Scholarships are usually considered as prized possessions and a mark of intelligence and hard-work in this world. They are achievements that one usually celebrates and covets for. In order to understand Vedic scriptures and progress spiritually however, one's material scholarships don't matter at all. This is because, one's spiritual progress has nothing to do with one's material qualifications. To become Krishna conscious, one has to have qualities such as simplicity, sincerity and humility , among others, and take shelter of a spiritual master who can guide him back home to God.

Srila Prabhupada's books, lectures, conversations and letters offer a comprehensive presentation of this essential subject as seen in the Vaniquotes Scholarship category. An introduction from his books is given below in the following 8 quotes.
