In this world, everyone likes sufficiency as it gives them a sense of satisfaction. If one is self-sufficient (i.e. he can provide for himself), then he is all the more happy as not only can he satisfy his needs, but also has a sense of security. At this material level, if one feels contented with self-sufficiency, then the Supreme Lord Krishna, who is the origin of all in this cosmos, should be the ultimate source of provision of all and thereby, be wholly self-sufficient. It is stated in the scriptures that if one surrenders to Lord Krishna, then he is freed from all anxieties as the Lord provides everything for him, thereby leaving nothing for the him to lament or regret about.

Srila Prabhupada's books, lectures, conversations and letters offer a comprehensive presentation of this essential subject as seen in the Vaniquotes Self-sufficient category. An introduction from his books is given below in the following 8 quotes.
