Service attitude comes to a person when he is filled with humility, and this happens when he realises that his true position is as eternal servitor of the Lord. It is not an easy task to understand who God is and how one can achieve ultimate love of Godhead. However, if one has a service attitude, he may be able to do so. Śrīla Śukadeva Gosvāmī suggests how one can perceive the Supreme Lord by reason and perception; the Lord is not perceivable by our present materialized senses, but when one is convinced of the presence of the Lord by a practical service attitude, there is revelation by the Lord's mercy, and such a pure devotee of the Lord can perceive the Lord's presence always and everywhere.

Srila Prabhupada's books, lectures, conversations and letters offer a comprehensive presentation of this essential subject as seen in the Vaniquotes Service Attitude category. An introduction from his books is given below in the following 8 quotes.
