- iti sāyantanīṁ sandhyām
- asurāḥ pramadāyatīm
- pralobhayantīṁ jagṛhur
- matvā mūḍha-dhiyaḥ striyam
PALABRA POR PALABRA
iti—de esta manera; sāyantanīm—el atardecer; sandhyām—el crepúsculo; asurāḥ—los demonios; pramadāyatīm—comportándose como una mujer frívola; pralobhayantīm—tentadora; jagṛhuḥ—apresaron; matvā—creyendo que era; mūḍha-dhiyaḥ—sin inteligencia; striyam—una mujer.
TRADUCCIÓN
Los asuras, nublado su entendimiento, confundieron la luz del crepúsculo vespertino con una hermosa mujer que mostraba su tentadora forma, y se apoderaron de ella.
SIGNIFICADO
Aquí se describe a los asuras con la palabra mūḍha-dhiyaḥ, que significa que, como los asnos, están cautivados por la ignorancia. Los demonios quedaron cautivados por la belleza falsa y deslumbrante de aquella forma material, y la abrazaron.
