"From beasts, the human form comes—either from monkey or from lion or from cows. Out of these three... Sattva-guṇa, rajo-guṇa, tamo-guṇa. Those who are coming through rajo-guṇa, their last birth before human form of birth is lion. And those who are coming in the form ignorance, Darwin's father-in-law, (laughs) monkey, and ignorance. And those who are coming in goodness, their last form of birth is cow. So this is our scientific information from the Vedas." |

Man: Why did Kṛṣṇa create the universe? Prabhupāda: Because He is creator. God, He is known as creator. He is creating so many, He has created you also. You are also creating. You scientists, you are creating so many things. You have got the creative energy. The electrician is creating the electric fan, electric light, heater, electric, so many things. Electrician, that is nature. And God is the Supreme. He has the power to create, create, create. He is becoming many by creation. Many, when there is variety, many, that means creation. So this is also one of His creations. When there was necessity of creation, therefore He has created. The necessity was that some of the living entities they wanted to enjoy. They did not want to serve Kṛṣṇa. So for them, enjoy here in this material world. |

Unnecessary pride is very bad. "Oh, I have become very advanced in Krsna consciousness." That we should never think. |

"After wandering through these so many species of life and so dangerous... There are two million species of plant life, tree's life. Just see. You have to stand for so many years. A great opportunity, this human form of life. Don't waste. Don't become dogs and hogs and asses and camels. Become devotee. Just surrender to Kṛṣṇa. Make your life successful." |

"Just like stone or steel does not melt very easily, similarly, anyone's heart which does not change after chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra regularly, then it is to be understood that it is steel-framed, made of stone or iron. Actually, hari-nāma—harer nāma harer nāma harer nāmaiva kevalam (CC Adi 17.21)—it is especially meant for cleansing the heart. That every... All misconception is within our heart, beginning from the wrong identification, that "I am this body." That is the beginning of all misconception." |

"So one must have seen the truth, realized the truth. Tad-vijñānārthaṁ sa gurum evābhigacchet (MU 1.2.12). That is guru, means one who has seen the truth. How he has seen the truth? Through the paramparā system. Kṛṣṇa said this, and then Brahmā said the same thing, then Nārada said the same thing, Vyāsadeva said the same thing, and then disciplic succession, Madhvācārya, Mādhavendra Purī, Īśvara Purī, Lord Caitanya, ṣaḍ-gosvāmī, Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī, Śrīnivāsa Ācārya, Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura—in this way—Jagannātha dāsa Bābājī, Gaura Kiśora dāsa Bābājī, Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī. Then we are speaking the same thing. Not that 'Because we are modernized, we're, modern science has changed'. Nothing has changed. It is all foolishness." |

"Śrī-bhagavān uvāca. Bhagavān, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, He comes down, avatāra. The Sanskrit word avatāra, avatāra means who comes down from up; coming down, descends. Why does He come? Paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām (BG 4.8). There are two classes of men—one is sādhu and another is miscreant. Sādhu means devotees of the Lord, and miscreant means always committing sinful activities. That's all. So there are two classes of men anywhere you go within this material world. One is called demigod or devotees, and the other is called nondevotee or demon. So Kṛṣṇa comes... Both of them are conditioned, one has become demon and one has become... Of course, devotee's in higher state, he is not conditioned; he is mukta, liberated even in this life. So Kṛṣṇa comes down, He has got two businesses: to reclaim or rescue the devotees and to vanquish the nondevotees." |

"Everyone has got his particular type of religion or occupation. That's all right. Dharma svanuṣṭhitaḥ puṁsām (SB 1.2.8). The result will be... By executing your particular type of religion, the result must be there. The result is, 'How I shall go back to home, back to Godhead'. If that desire is not developed, it is simply waste of time. You may profess this religion or that religion or this religion or that religion, it doesn't matter. You are simply wasting time by following the dogmas and ritualistic this or that. That will not help you. Phalena paricīyate. Whether you have come to this consciousness, 'What I am? I am not matter; I am spirit. I have to go back to my spiritual'. That... That is wanted. So either you may be Hebrew or may be Hindu or Christian—we want to see whether that consciousness has arisen. If it is not, then you have simply wasted time. Either you be Hindu or brāhmaṇa or this or that, it doesn't matter. Śrama eva hi kevalam (SB 1.2.8). Simply wasting time." |
