Compiling

Vanitutors

In order for the compiling of quotes to be experienced by hundreds of devotees we will need to have many Vanitutors. A Vanitutor is someone who agrees to train others how to compile. Our plan is to have groups of devotees serving together developing compilations on specific themes. So this is a great way to associate together around Srila Prabhupada's teachings.

First the Vanitutor needs to be trained in the process, both the methodology and the technical elements that are needed to make the pages clean and tidy. Then a Vanitutor can pass on those experiences to others. So if any of the present compilers or ones that are coming forward to participate have an inclination to look after (inspire, communicate, teach practical skills, and do quality controls) other compilers, then please let us know and we will train you to be Vanitutors. If we have 90 Vanitutors each coordinating 9 compilers then that makes 900 compilers. With some good organization and a nice cooperative spirit these 900 devotees will be able to create 5 million quotes in less than 2 years, and that is each person only doing 5 hours service each week.

I hope some of you readers are realizing what that means. It means that in a very short period of time we have the possibility to create a unique resource of Prabhupada's teachings. A resource that will help everyone of us to become more Krsna conscious, and a resource that will help immensely the continuity of the Hare Krsna movement under Srila Prabhupada's divine direction and inspiration way beyond the life span of this current generation. This is really history in the making. Please consider being part of it.

Promotion

The vision of Vanipedia is worthy of being promoted via all means possible. The more people become aware of what it is we are trying to achieve the more they can appreciate and eventually become involved. It would be wonderful if some very talented communicators join together and take up the responsibility of firstly understanding the vision themselves and then expertly communicating that to all the different interest groups there are.

Organization

We all know that in order for any endeavor to be successful there needs to be four things. Land, Capital, Manpower and Organisation. The nature of Vanipedia is that there is not much land nor capital needed. What is needed the most is manpower and that manpower may come forward, but wont be inspired to offer service, nor be able to see the results of their services develop into some real tangible results unless there is good organization. So we have concluded that the success of Vanipedia rests on good organization. We are already seeing that many devotees are appreciating the vision, but without good organization the vision can not be realized. Thus if anyone has organizational skills, along with the passion for it, and has free time to commit we would be very interested to hear from you. Out of the 9 core team members that we envision offer services at the PVRA in Belgium, at least three of them should be good organizers.

Teams

In order for Vanipedia to complete its mission there are different sections of the project that have to be developed. This development will be better done in teams of devotees supporting, facilitating and encouraging each other to perform the practical tasks. In order for the teams to develop we need to have at least one person responsibly committed. At the moment only the compiling team is developing. In IT and Organization we have a responsible person in each but no team supporting them.

Funding

Even though Vanipedia doe not need much funding it does need something, and it would be unfortunate if the only reason that Vanipedia did not succeed was because of a lack of funds. Thus there is a little bit of attention that needs to be placed there. We have a patron program, as as more people join that, the funding element will be taken care of and then that will free us to do all the services to realize the vision.
