tasya putraḥ śatānīko
yājñavalkyāt trayīṁ paṭhan
astra-jñānaṁ kriyā-jñānaṁ
śaunakāt param eṣyati


PALABRA POR PALABRA

tasya—de Janamejaya; putraḥ—el hijo; śatānīkaḥ—Śatānīka; yājñavalkyāt—del gran sabio Yājñavalkya; trayīm—los tres Vedas (Sāma, Yajur y Ṛg); paṭhan—estudiar detalladamente; astra-jñānam—el arte de la administración militar; kriyā-jñānam—el arte de celebrar ceremonias rituales; śaunakāt—de Śaunaka Ṛṣi; param—conocimiento trascendental; eṣyati—obtendrá.


TRADUCCIÓN

Śatānīka, el hijo de Janamejaya, aprenderá de Yajñavalkya los tres Vedas y el arte de celebrar ceremonias rituales. De Kṛpācārya aprenderá el arte militar, y del sabio Śaunaka, la ciencia trascendental.
