Preparing a Page for Translation (Admins/Preparers)

  • Make sure you know the name of the page;
  • Go to Prepare page for translation: Special:PagePreparation;

Tag placement

  • Leave the following tag: <languages/> at the top of the page;
  • Cut the <translate> tag (deleting the blank line left behind) and paste it on its own line (create a blank line for it if necessary) at the point you wish the translation to begin;
  • Delete any other </translate> and <translate> tags including the blank lines left from the deletes (please note next step);
  • Do not delete the last </translate> tag found at the bottom of the page;
  • Preview then save page;
  • The translatable page will be listed on Special:PageTranslation as ready for marking.
