<p>Paramahaṁsa: But there must be some progress because so many are joining the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement.</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: They are making real advancement. Bhava-mahā-dāvāgni-nirvāpaṇam. Their these material anxieties will be over. They are making advancement. Ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanaṁ bhava-mahā-dāvāgni-nirvāpaṇam ([[Vanisource:CC Antya 20.12|CC Antya 20.12]]). By chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa their dirty heart will be cleansed, and as soon as it is fully cleansed, the problems of material existence will be over. No more anxiety.</p>
<p>Paramahaṁsa: They seem happy, but... The devotees of Kṛṣṇa seem happy, but they don't do much practical work. They always sing and dance and ask for some money. But they don't work any practical thing. We're doing so many practical things.</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: Dancing is not working? And writing book is not working? Selling book is not working? What is working then? Hm? Like monkey jumping? Yes? That is working?</p>
<p>Amogha: But we are helping people practically like in the hospital or the alcoholics...</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: No, what... How you are helping? Do you think if one goes to hospital he will not die? And how you are helping? You are thinking you are helping.</p>
<p>Amogha: But he lives longer.</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: That is another foolishness. How long you will live? When the time of death comes, you will not live longer even by a moment. When a man is going to die, his life is finished. Can your injection, medicine, give one minute's life more? Is there any medicine?</p>
<p>Amogha: Well, there seems to be.</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: No...</p>
<p>Amogha: Sometimes when they give medicine they live longer.</p>
<p>Paramahaṁsa: They say that by perfecting heart transplant they may make people live...</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: They may say, they... Because we take them as rascals, why shall I take their words? We should consider them a rascals, that's all. (someone shouts nastily in background-Prabhupāda barks at them) (laughter) Another rascal. He is enjoying life. So the world is full of rascals. We must be very much pessimistic, not at all optimistic of this world. Unless you become pessimistic, you will not be able to go back to home. If you have little attraction for this world—"It is good"—then you have to remain here. Yes. Kṛṣṇa is so strict.</p>
<p>Paramahaṁsa: But Jesus said: "Love thy brother as thyself." So if we love our brother...</p>
<p>Prabhupāda: That we are loving. We are giving Kṛṣṇa consciousness. That is loving, real loving. We are giving him eternal life, eternal bliss. Unless we love them, why we are taking so much trouble? The preacher must love the people. Otherwise why he is taking? He can do it for himself at home. Why he is taking so much trouble? Why in eighty years old I have come here if I do not love? So who can love better than a preacher? He loves even the animals. Therefore they are preaching, "Don't take meat." Do they love the animals, rascals? They are eating, and they love their country, that's all. Nobody loves. It is simply sense gratification. If somebody loves, he is Kṛṣṇa conscious, that's all. All rascals. They are after their own sense gratification, and they will put a signboard, "I love everyone." This is their business. And fools are accepting, "Oh, this man is very philanthropic." He does not love any man. He loves only senses. That's all. The servant of the senses, that's all.</p>

அமோகன்: நெருப்புக்கோழி ஆபத்து வந்தால் மண்ணில் தலையை புதைக்குமாம்.  பிரபுபாதர்: ஆம். பரமஹம்சன்: இவ்வளவு பேர் ஹரே கிருஷ்ண இயக்கத்தை சேர்கிறார்கள் என்றால் ஏதோவொரு முன்னேற்றம் இருக்கிறது என்று தான் அர்த்தமாகும். பிரபுபாதர்: அவர்கள் உண்மையான முன்னேற்றத்தை அடைகிறார்கள். பவ-மஹா-தாவாக்னி-நிர்வாபணம். அவர்களுடைய பௌதிக கவலைகள் எல்லாம் தீர்ந்துவிடும். அவர்கள் ஆன்மீகத்தில் முன்னேறுகிறார்கள். சேதோ-தர்பண-மார்ஜனம் பவ-மஹா-தாவாக்னி-நிர்வாபணம் (சைதன்ய சரிதாம்ருதம் அந்த்ய லீலை 20.12). ஹரே கிருஷ்ண உச்சாடனம் செய்வதால் அவர்களுடைய அழுக்கான மனம் தூய்மைப்படுத்தப்படும், மற்றும் அவர்கள் முழுமையாக தூய்மை அடைந்த உடனேயே, பௌதிக வாழ்க்கையின் பிரச்சனைகள் அனைத்தும் தீர்ந்துவிடும். அதற்கு பிறகு எந்த கவலையும் இருக்காது. பரமஹம்சன்:  கிருஷ்ணரின் பக்தர்கள் சந்தோஷமாக தோன்றுகிறார்கள், ஆனால் அவர்கள் நடைமுறைக்கு ஒத்துவருமாறு அவ்வளவு எதையும் செய்வதில்லையே. அவர்கள் எப்பொழுதும் ஆடிப்பாடி பணம் கேட்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் அவர்கள் நடைமுறைக்கு உகந்த வேலை எதுவும் செய்வதில்லை. நாங்கள் நடைமுறையில் உதவும் பல காரியங்களை செய்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். பிரபுபாதர்: ஆடுவது வேலை இல்லையா? மேலும் புத்தகம் எழுதுவது வேலை இல்லையா? புத்தகங்களை விற்பனை செய்வது வேலை இல்லையா? இல்லையென்றால் அப்போ வேலை செய்வது என்றால் என்ன? ஹம்? குரங்குகளைப்போல் குதிப்பது? ஆம்? அது வேலை தானே? அமோகன்: ஆனால் நாங்கள் மக்களுக்கு நடைமுறையில் உதவி செய்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். மருத்துவமனைகள், மறுவாழ்வு மையங்கள் என... பிரபுபாதர்:  இல்லை, என்ன... அது எப்படி உதவியாகும்? ஒருவர் மருத்துவமனைக்குச் சென்றால் அவர் இறந்துபோகமாட்டார் என்று நீங்கள் நினைக்கிறீர்களா? மேலும் அந்த உதவிக்கு என்ன மதிப்பு? நீங்கள் உதவி புரிகிறீர்கள் என்று நீங்கள் நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.  அமோகன்:  ஆனால் ஒருவர் வாழ்க்கை நீடிக்கப்படுகிறதே. பிரபுபாதர்:  அது இன்னொரு முட்டாள்தனம். ஆயுளை உங்களால் எத்தனை காலம் வரை நீடிக்க முடியும்? மரண நேரம் வந்தால், ஒரு நொடி கூட கூடுதலாக உங்களால் வாழ முடியாது. ஒருவனது மரண நேரம் வந்ததும் அவன் வாழ்க்கை முடிந்துவிடும். உங்கள் ஊசி, மருந்து இவைகளால் ஒரு நிமிடம் கூட விதிக்கப்பட்ட வாழ்க்கையை அதிகரிக்க முடியுமா? அதற்கு எதாவது மருந்து இருக்கிறதா? அமோகன்:  அப்படித்தான் தோன்றுகிறது.  பிரபுபாதர்: இல்லை... அமோகன்: சில நேரங்களில் மருந்து கொடுத்தால் அவர்களது ஆயுள் நீடிக்கப்படுகிறதே. பரமஹம்சன்:  அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள், இதய மாற்று அறுவை சிகிச்சையில் முன்னேற்றம் வந்தால் அவர்களால் ஆயுளை... பிரபுபாதர்:  அவர்கள் கூறுவார்கள்... நாம் அவர்களை அயோக்கியர்களாக கருதும் போது, அவர்களுடைய வார்த்தைகளை ஏன் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்? நாம் அவர்களை அயோக்கியர்களாகத் தான் கருத வேண்டும், அவ்வளவுதான். (யாரோ ஒருவர் பின்னணியில் கத்துகிறார்; பிரபுபாதர் அவர்களை கண்டிக்கிறார்) (சிரிப்பு) இன்னொரு அயோக்கியன். வாழ்க்கையை அனுபவிக்க பார்க்கிறான். உலகமே அயோக்கியர்களால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது. நாம் இந்த பௌதிக உலகின்மீது மிகவும் நம்பிக்கையற்று இருக்கவேண்டும், இதை நம்பி இருக்கவே கூடாது. அப்படி நம்பிக்கையற்று இருந்தால் ஒழிய உங்களால் பரமபதத்தை அடையமுடியாது. இந்த உலகின் மீது உங்களுக்கு சிறிதளவும் ஈர்ப்பு இருந்தால் - "இது நல்ல இடம்" -  பிறகு நீங்கள் இங்கேயே இருக்க வேண்டியிது தான். ஆம். கிருஷ்ணர் மிகவும் கண்டிப்பானவர். பரமஹம்சன்:  ஆனால் இயேசு கூறியிருக்கிறார்: "உன் சகோதரனை தம்மைப்போலவே நேசிப்பாயாக."  ஆக நாம் நம் சகோதரனை நேசிக்கும் பட்சத்தில்... பிரபுபாதர்: அப்படி நாம் நேசித்து தான் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். நாம் கிருஷ்ண உணர்வை வழங்குகிறோம். அது தான் அன்பு, உண்மையான நேசம். நாம் நித்தியமான வாழ்க்கையையும், நித்தியமான மகிழ்ச்சியையும் வழங்குகிறோம். நமக்கு அவர்கள்மீது நேசம் இருப்பதால் தானே இவ்வளவு கஷ்டங்களை மேற்கொள்கிறோம். ஒரு சமய போதகர் மக்களை நேசிக்க வேண்டும். இல்லையெனில் ஏன் அவர் மேற்கொள்கிறார்? ஏதோ வீட்டில் தன்னளவில் பயின்றால் போதுமே. அவர் ஏன் இவ்வளவு கஷ்டங்களை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும். எனக்கு அன்பும் அக்கறையும் இல்லாதபட்சத்தில், எதற்காக எண்பது வயதில் நான் இங்கு வர வேண்டும்? ஆக ஒரு பிரச்சாரகரைவிட சிறப்பாக யாரால் அன்பு காட்ட முடியும்? அவர் மிருகங்களைக் கூட நேசிப்பார். அதனால் தான், "மாமிசம் உண்ணாதீர்கள்," என்று அவர்கள் பிரச்சாரம் செய்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் மிருகங்களை நேசிக்கிறார்களா என்ன, அயோக்கியர்கள்? அவர்கள் உண்ணுகிறார்கள்,  மேலும் தங்கள் நாட்டை நேசிக்கிறார்கள், அவ்வளவுதான். ஒருவரும் நேசிப்பதில்லை. எல்லாம் வெறும் புலன் இன்பத்திற்காகத் தான். ஒருவர் நேசிக்கிறார் என்றால், அவர் கிருஷ்ண உணர்வுள்ளவராக இருக்கவேண்டும்,  அவ்வளவு தான். மற்றபடி அயோக்கியர்கள் தான். அவர்கள் தன் சொந்த புலன் நுகர்விற்காக செயல்படுகிறார்கள்,  ஆனால், " நான் எல்லோரையும் நேசிக்கிறேன்," என விளம்பரம் செய்கிறார்கள். இதுதான் அவர்களுடைய வேலை. முட்டாள்களும் அதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள், "ஓ, இந்த மனிதன் மனித இனத்தின் நன்மைக்காக பாடு படுகிறான்." அவன் எந்த மனிதனையும் நேசிக்கவில்லை. அவன் புலன்களை மட்டுமே நேசிக்கிறான். அவ்வளவு தான். புலன்களின் சேவகன், அவ்வளவு தான்.
