Today there are 3,934 categories, 9,512 pages, and 42,303 quotes drawn from the following places.
- 1,817 quotes from Bhagavad-gītā As It Is
- 13,837 quotes from Śrīmad Bhāgavatam
- 4,011 quotes from Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta
- 2,601 quotes from other books by Śrīla Prabhupāda
- 11,794 quotes from Śrīla Prabhupāda's lectures
- 4,450 quotes from Śrīla Prabhupāda's conversations
- 3,793 quotes from Śrīla Prabhupāda's correspondence
Once completed we estimate Vaniquotes will have 4,500 to 5,000 categories, at least 100,000 pages, and somewhere between 3 to 5 million quotes. Our first goal is to create 500,000 quotes. In order to achieve this by Śrīla Prabhupāda's disappearance day 2009 we will need to compile an average of 1,200 quotes a day. This will definitely be a challenge and will be possible only if many devotees take up the compiling process. Lets try to make it happen.
