'''Yasasvini:''' One morning I was going to go on the morning walk with Srila Prabhupada and it was raining. I hadn’t actually put a coat or shoes on, so when Prabhupada came down the stairs, he said to me, “You are going on the morning walk?” I said, “Yes, Srila Prabhupada.” He said, “You are not properly dressed.” That amazed me because he came with such a big mission, but he also paid attention to the seemingly small things. Prabhupada noticed everything and he cared about everyone and at this time he showed how personal he was to me.
I want to say that our Srila Prabhupada actually did give us everything—completely. Sometimes devotees talk about going a little deeper, perhaps progressing towards raganuga-bhakti. For younger devotees, definitely that is not appropriate. Prabhupada often said, “Work now—samadhi later.” However, in Srila Prabhupada’s Caitanya-caritamrta he actually gives all the information for what to do if we want to take that step further. He tells us to read Brihad-Bhagavatamrita. He mentions the Tenth Canto commentary of the previous acharyas and the six Gosvamis’ books. So, I feel that Prabhupada wanted to give us this if we felt compelled to go deeper. Sometimes we may think we can’t progress, but Prabhupada was and is so potent that he has the ability, even after leaving the planet, to move us forward. Prabhupada’s true glory is that he did give us everything to take us back home, back to Godhead.

Prabhupada Memories

Interview 01

Yasasvini: One morning I was going to go on the morning walk with Srila Prabhupada and it was raining.
