Krishna Prema: I was born and raised in New Dwarka, and I remember my mother bringing me to the front of the temple during gurupuja. I remember seeing an old, wise man and feeling the awe and reverence that everybody treated him with. I was not quite scared, and I was not quite happy. My mother pushed me forward, so I went up to the vyasasana and said, “Can I have cookie?” Srila Prabhupada took a cookie off the plate and handed it down to me with a smile. All of a sudden I thought, “This guy is okay, he’s given me a cookie.” |
