Shaktimati: The kirtan was being sung in a kind of unusual chorus of two parts in a way that we never sang before. Some of the people in the room were singing “Jaya Prabhupada, Jaya Prabhupada” while other of the devotees were chanting the Maha-mantra, and somehow it blended together in the most perfectly beautiful way. As I was listening to it, I was thinking, “We don’t sound like this. This isn’t coming from us.” It was like there was no ceiling on the room, that all the concrete or bricks or iron beams or whatever that was there had just dissolved and the whole room was open like a direct current to the spiritual world as Krishna’s messengers came for Srila Prabhupada.
