कट्वम्ललवणात्युष्णतीक्ष्णरूक्षविदाहिनः ।
आहारा राजसस्येष्टा दुःखशोकामयप्रदाः ॥९॥


kaṭv-amla-lavaṇāty-uṣṇa-
tīkṣṇa-rūkṣa-vidāhinaḥ
āhārā rājasasyeṣṭā
duḥkha-śokāmaya-pradāḥ


SYNONYME

kaṭu — bitter; amla — sauer; lavaṇa — salzig; ati-uṣṇa — sehr scharf; tīkṣṇa — beißend; rūkṣa — trocken; vidāhinaḥ — brennend; āhārāḥ — Speise; rājasasya — für jemanden in der Erscheinungsweise der Leidenschaft; iṣṭāḥ — schmackhaft; duḥkha — Leid; śoka — Schmerz; āmaya — Krankheit; pradāḥ — verursachend.


ÜBERSETZUNG

Speisen, die zu bitter, zu sauer, zu salzig, zu scharf oder beißend, trocken und brennend sind, werden von Menschen geschätzt, die sich in der Erscheinungsweise der Leidenschaft befinden. Solche Nahrung verursacht Schmerz, Leid und Krankheit.
