It is well-known that if a student closely follows his teacher, and if the teacher is an expert in the subject, then the student is bound to learn quickly. This is the conventional and proven method for achieving success. Regarding spiritual matters also, one has to follow a bona fide spiritual master in order to get full success in spiritual life, and this is exactly what Srila Prabhupada (founder of Iskcon) did.
