"We are eating. Everyone is eating; we are also eating. The difference is somebody is eating for sense gratification and somebody is eating for satisfaction of Kṛṣṇa. That is the difference. So if you simply acknowledge that 'My dear Lord...' Just like a son, if he acknowledges the benefits derived from the father, how much the father is satisfied, 'Oh, here is a very good son'. The father is supplying everything, but if the son says, 'My dear father, you are so kind to me that you are supplying such nice things. I thank you', the father becomes very much pleased. Father does not want that thanks, but it is natural. Father does not care for such thanks. His duty he is supplying. But if the son feels thankful for the father's benefit, the father is especially satisfied. Similarly, God is the father. He is supplying us." |

"In spite of going through the process of austerities and other methods—controlling the senses, controlling the mind, by renunciation; so many formulas we have discussed to elevate oneself, they are required—if we do not try to elevate ourselves, if we try to keep ourselves with the animal propensities, then we remain like animal. Just like if you are admitted in some educational institution, the school, if you don't take advantage of the education, you remain yourself where you are admitted in the same point, then you don't take advantage of the institution, you remain a foolish, or illiterate or ignorant. Similarly, in this human form of life, if you do not take advantage of the knowledge left by the great sages or by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, then it is exactly like that you enter into educational life, you don't take advantage of it, and you become failed in the ultimate examination." |

"A dog is chained up by the master, but he thinks that he's very happy. He does not think that 'I am completely dependent and I am chained up. I have no independence. I cannot freely move'. Even his chain is taken away, he wants to be chained. This is māyā. In any condition of life, everyone thinks that he's happy. But actually he does not know what is happiness. This is called māyā." |

"Here it is said that a person, for a short period, if he becomes Kṛṣṇa conscious, sakṛt, manaḥ, if his mind is some way or other placed on the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, then, even in dream he'll never see what is the punishment in the planet of Yamarāja. That means a Kṛṣṇa conscious person is guaranteed not to be touched by the Yamarāja or his attendants or his police force or constables." |

"Vedic civilization means that people were trained up in such a way that ultimately he comes to the transcendental platform and he understands his real position in this world, his relationship with God, and he acts accordingly, so that he gets the chance of utilizing this human form of life to the best possibility. That means to end this wandering in the cycle of 8,400,000 species of life and get oneself out of this entanglement." |
