Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"When you are initiated, you promise, 'No illicit sex, no intoxication, no meat-eating, no gambling'. And if you do privately all these things, then what kind of man you are? Don't be cheater. Be plain. When you promise that 'We shall not do these things', don't do it again. Then you remain in goodness. That's all. Nobody can disturb you. And if you pollute yourself silently, then this goodness will gone. So this is the warning. Once you are initiated on the promise that you shall not do these all nonsense, then you remain perfectly in goodness. Mām eva ye prapadyante māyām etāṁ taranti (BG 7.14). Māyā cannot do anything. But if you cheat yourself, cheat your spiritual master, cheat God, then you'll be cheated by māyā."

"They are saying, 'Don't... There is no God. We don't care for God. We are, everyone, God'. But māyā, the police force, is there, kicking on the face. And they are subjected to so many tribulations, miserable conditions of life, especially birth, death, old age and disease. Now you don't care for God. So why don't you stop your death? You stop your death. Kṛṣṇa says in the Bhagavad-gītā, mṛtyuḥ sarva-haraś ca aham (BG 10.34): 'To the rascals and the demons, I am death. I take away everything'. Sarva-haraḥ."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"A person who is not agitated, he's called dhīra. So when a man dies, the man's relatives lament, "Oh, my father has gone," "My sister has gone," "My wife..." But if you become dhīra, then you are not bewildered. Just like your friend or your father moves from this apartment to another apartment, who is agitated? No, that's all right. He was in this apartment, now he has gone to another apartment, so there is no question of agitation or being perturbed. Similarly, one who knows the causes of transmigration of the soul from one body to another, he is not agitated at the death of his friend or relative. He knows everything, and he knows where his friend has gone with reference to the śāstra."

"This is the symptom how one is advancing in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. That means all the good qualities will be visible in his character. That is practical. Anyone can test. Just like these boys, these girls, European, American boys and girls who have taken to this Kṛṣṇa consciousness, just see how their bad habits have been altogether stopped. Sarvair guṇais tatra samāsate surāḥ. All good qualities will develop. You see practically. You see practically. These young boys and girls, they never asked me that 'Give me some money. I shall go to cinema', or 'I shall purchase a packet of cigarette. I shall drink'. No. This is practical. And everyone knows that from the very their birth, they are accustomed to eat meat, and... I do not know from the very beginning whether they are accustomed to take intoxicant. But actually they were habituated to these things, but they have altogether given up. They don't drink tea even, coffee, cigarette, anything. Sarvair guṇais tatra samāsate... This is the test. A man has become devotee, at the same time smoking—this is ludicrous. This is ludicrous."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"This increase of our loving propensity will not be satisfied unless it reaches the Supreme Personality of Godhead. That is the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement. We love. The loving propensity is there. Even we have no family, sometimes we keep pets, cats and dogs, to love. So we are, by nature we used to love somebody else. So that somebody else is Kṛṣṇa. Actually, we want to love Kṛṣṇa, but without information of Kṛṣṇa, without Kṛṣṇa consciousness, our loving propensity is limited, within certain circle. Therefore we are not satisfied. Nitya-siddha kṛṣṇa-bhakti (CC Madhya 22.107). That love affair, loving propensity, is eternally existing, to love Kṛṣṇa."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"If you simply see Kṛṣṇa with your eyes, then your eyes will be purified and spiritualized. Because you are touching... Just like if you keep yourself always in touch with fire, you become warm. Warm, warmer, warmer. If you put one iron rod in the fire, it becomes warm, warmer, warmer, and at last, it becomes red hot. When it is red hot, it is fire; it is no more iron rod. You touch that red hot iron anywhere, it will burn. Similarly, if you keep always in touch with Kṛṣṇa, you become Kṛṣṇa..., Kṛṣṇized, and you can appreciate what is Kṛṣṇa."

"One devotee, he requested Caitanya Mahāprabhu, 'My Lord, You have come. Please liberate all the people of this universe, and if they are sinful, so all their sins I may take, but they may be delivered'. This is Vaiṣṇava philosophy. 'Others may be delivered by the grace of the Lord; I may rot in the hell. That doesn't matter'. Not that 'First of all I go to the heaven, and others may rot'. This is not Vaiṣṇava philosophy. Vaiṣṇava philosophy is, 'I may rot in the hell, but others may be delivered'. Patitānāṁ pāvanebhyo vaiṣṇavebhyo namo namaḥ (Maṇgalācaraṇa 9). Vaiṣṇava is meant for delivering all the fallen souls."
