Forced to Surrender - That is Special Favor - 0123
04:32 minutes from a general lecture in Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"Now, I want to touch some soft place to enjoy the sense of this hand, touch sense. But if the hand is covered with gloves, I cannot enjoy that sense so nicely. You can easily understand. The sense is there, but if it is artificially covered, then even the facility is there, I cannot enjoy the sense perfectly. Similarly, we have got our senses, but our senses are now covered by this material body. Kṛṣṇa gives us indication in the Bhagavad-gītā that, that superhappiness can be achieved by that sense, not this covered sense."

690309 - Lecture SB 07.09.08 - Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"Every living entity is by nature joyful, spiritually, and because he is materially covered, his joyfulness is hampered. That is the real position. Feverish condition, one becomes sick, attacked by fever—his joyfulness goes away. He becomes sick. Similarly, our natural position is joy. Ānandamayo 'bhyāsāt. Kṛṣṇa is joyful. I am part and parcel of Kṛṣṇa; therefore I must be also joyful. That is natural. If my father is black, then I am also black. If my mother is black, I am also black. So our father, the supreme father Kṛṣṇa, is joyful."

690310 - Lecture SB 07.09.08-10 - Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"We want to satisfy the Lord. That is our… Kṛṣṇa conscious movement means our life is dedicated how to please the Lord. So Prahlāda Mahārāja says that material acquisition cannot please the Lord. Simply devotional service. "Because I have been engaged to please the Lord, that means I have no material acquisition." That too will also be explained. Material acquisition his father had, but that was finished within a second. So material acquisition has no value for spiritual profit."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"So Vaiṣṇava is humble and meek. He is not proud, because...(break) ...even if he has got great amount of wealth, good qualification, everything, he thinks that "These things are Kṛṣṇa's. I am His servant. I have got the opportunity to serve Him with these qualification. If I am highly educated, if I have got good knowledge, if I am great philosopher, scientist—everything—if I do not engage all these qualifications to Kṛṣṇa's service, then I shall naturally become falsely proud, and that is the cause of my falldown."

Lecture - Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"So spiritual world is different from the material world. Spiritually it is different. So spiritually we cannot understand now, because we are absorbed in matter. But we understand from reliable sources, from authoritative sources, that Kṛṣṇa is everywhere, although He is far far away in His abode, beyond this material world. So I just explained the material world, we cannot reach the limit, and what to speak of going to the spiritual world that is far beyond this sky. But although it is impossible materially, spiritually it is possible. Spiritually it is possible. So the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is a spiritual movement; it is not material movement."

Lecture SB 07.09.08-11 - Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"So our Vaiṣṇava principle is we have to qualify ourselves, just like cats and dog. But we are not going to serve the ordinary person. Kṛṣṇa and His representative—then his life is perfect. Kalau śūdra sambhava. In this age, everyone is practically a śūdra seeking a master. But let him seek a master. Kṛṣṇa is prepared. He says, sarva-dharmān parityaja mām ekaṁ (BG 18.66) "Just accept Me as your master." The master is ready. If we accept this master, then our life is successful"

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"Prahlāda Mahārāja is considering that, 'Although I am a child, I have no education, my parentage is not at all bona fide; still, devotional service is unconditional. Devotional service does not depend on any material qualification. Therefore I shall try to offer my prayers to the Supreme Lord according to my capacity'."

Lecture - Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"So we are educating our students to practice how to revive his old, the eternal constitutional position to serve the Lord. This is our practice. Just like here you can see the boys have decorated the sitting place of the Lord, how nice, with flowers and candles. It is not very expensive, but it is so beautiful that immediately it attracts. So everyone can practice at home. Is it very difficult task, to gather some flowers and some leaves and decorate and have some picture or statue of the Lord, offer Him some fruits, flower? Everyone can do this. And by doing this, he gets the highest perfection of life: no more coming into this material world and suffer all these nonsense. This is our practice."

Chant Hare Krishna then Everything will Come - 0083
05:43 minutes from a lecture on SB 07.09.11-13 in Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"Just like Caitanya Mahāprabhu said that this universe is just like a, a small mustard seed in the bag of mustard seeds. If you take one bag of mustard seeds, you cannot count how many there are. Is it possible? If you take a bag of grains, is it possible to count how many grains are there? Caitanya Mahāprabhu has compared this universe... One of His devotee, Vāsudeva Datta... That is the attitude of devotee, he requested Caitanya Mahāprabhu, 'My dear Lord, You have kindly come to deliver the fallen souls. Please fulfill Your mission. Take away all the souls, conditioned souls of the universe. Don't leave them, not a single. Please take them away. And if You think that they are not eligible or some of them are not eligible, then please transfer their sinful reaction upon me. I shall go on suffering. But You take away all of them'. Just see the attitude of a devotee."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"We have passed only five thousand years of this age, Kali-yuga. Before that, there was Dvāpara-yuga. Dvāpara-yuga means 800,000 of years. And before that, there was Tretā-yuga, which continued for twelve hundred thousands of years. That means at least two million years before, Lord Rāmacandra appeared on this planet."

Lecture SB 01.02.06 - Hawaii
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"You cannot see God, you cannot smell God, you cannot touch God, you cannot taste God—but you can hear. That is a fact. You can hear. So this hearing is a very important thing to understand what is God. So our, this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is the hearing process. Hearing process. Just like we chant Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare/ Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. We are hearing the name of Kṛṣṇa. By hearing we are understanding what is the form of Kṛṣṇa. The form of Kṛṣṇa, which we are worshiping here, it is by hearing. It is not imagination."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"So even from historical references, there is not a single person who can be compared with Kṛṣṇa. Therefore He is all-attractive. And everything that we experience, that is the manifestation of Kṛṣṇa's energy. Parāsya śaktir vividhaiva śruyate (Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad 6.8, CC Madhya 13.65, purport). His energies are differently manifested. Similarly, in Viṣṇu Purāṇa also, it is said, parasya brahmaṇaḥ śaktis tathaiva akhilaṁ jagat (Viṣṇu Purāṇa 1.22.56). Akhilaṁ jagat means the whole cosmic manifestation is a display of the multi-energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Mar 31 - San Francisco

Go-up.png 1969 - March 31

Lecture SB 07.06.09-17 - San Francisco
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"What we call māyā... Māyā means... Mā means "not," and yā means "this." What you are accepting as fact, it is not a fact. This is called māyā. Ma-ya. Māyā means "Don't accept it as truth." It is simply flickering flash only. Just like in the dream we see so many things, and in the morning we forget everything. This is subtle dream. And this existence, this bodily existence and relationship to this body—society, friendship and love and so many things—they are also gross dream. It will finish. It will stay... Just like dream stays for a few minutes or few hours when you are asleep, similarly, this gross dream also will remain, say, for few years. That's all. It is also dream. But actually we are concerned with the person who is dreaming, or who is acting. So we have to take him out from this dream, gross and subtle. That is the proposition. So that can be done very easily by this process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and that is being explained by Prahlāda Mahārāja."
