Body and Soul - an essential subject

There is a distinction between body and soul; in the Vedas, it is clearly stated that we are the soul, not the body. We should use this body as a medium to to realize our true constitutional position as eternal servants of Lord Krishna, and that our ultimate goal is to go back home to Godhead. As it is stated in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 'The living entity is constitutionally pure. Asaṅgo hy ayaṁ puruṣaḥ. In the Vedic literature it is said that the soul is always pure and uncontaminated by material attachment. The identification of the body with the soul is due to misunderstanding. As soon as one is fully Kṛṣṇa conscious it is to be understood that one is in his pure, original constitutional position.'
