INTRODUCTION TEXT TO BE WRITTEN
What does a sampradaya mean? Srila Prabhupada says the meaning of this word is that the acarya of the sampradaya does not talk nonsense. He speaks whatever he has heard through the guru-parampara. An acarya is a guru and a very learned person of the Vedic literature, and due to his knowledge, he can become the head of a whole line of disciplic succession, training everyone in it to be well-versed in the scriptures. Therefore, it is critically important (for the advancement of the right spiritual teachings in the world) that the acarya and all the subsequent gurus under him be genuine. This would lead to the establishment of a good sampradaya, as is Vaishnava sampradaya, a part of which is the Krishna Consciousness movement.

Srila Prabhupada's books, lectures, conversations and letters offer a comprehensive presentation of this essential subject as seen in the Vaniquotes '''[[Vaniquotes:Category:Sampradaya|Sampradaya]]''' category. An introduction from his books is given below in the following NUMBER quotes.

People are misguided by such sampradāyas. The śāstras say that being initiated in such a sampradāya is a useless waste of time, for it will never enable one to understand the real religious principles. Some of these groups are known as āula, bāula, kartābhajā, neḍā, daraveśa, sāṅi, sahajiyā, sakhībhekī, smārta, jāta-gosāñi, ativāḍī, cūḍādhārī and gaurāṅga-nāgarī. Out of the four sampradāyas, the Śrī Madhvācārya-sampradāya was accepted by Mādhavendra Purī. Thus he took sannyāsa according to paramparā, the disciplic succession. Beginning from Madhvācārya down to the spiritual master of Mādhavendra Purī, the ācārya named Lakṣmīpati, there was no realization of devotional service in conjugal love. Śrī Mādhavendra Purī introduced the conception of conjugal love for the first time in the Madhvācārya-sampradāya. '''(Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Madhya-līlā 4.197)'''}}

It is a fact that there are many so-called Vaiṣṇavas whose ultimate aim is to merge into the existence of the Lord. For example, the sahajiyās' Vaiṣṇava philosophy is to become one with the Supreme.

Srila Prabhupada's books, lectures, conversations and letters offer a comprehensive presentation of this essential subject as seen in the Vaniquotes Sampradaya category. An introduction from his books is given below in the following 8 quotes.
