Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is the transcendental narration of the activities of Lord Kṛṣṇa, which alone can satisfy the hankering desires of the living being for eternal peace and liberation from miseries. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is the summum bonum remedy for suffering humanity in the clutches of māyā. Vyāsadeva therefore first of all diagnosed the actual disease of the conditioned souls, i.e., their being illusioned by the external energy.
