Our immediate task is to prepare the transliteration and correction of the 1st Canto for next publication. But if you have to do the same after learning Sanskrit grammar, it will take a long time to finish it. I have not heard anything how far yourself and Hayagriva combinedly finishing the editing of the 1st Canto which we are going to print next. If you can learn Sanskrit grammar conveniently it is very nice.

It is a fact that the religious principles of Krishna Consciousness which we are trying to preach under the direction of Lord Caitanya inducing people to chant HARE KRISHNA is the only panacea for the animalistic human society at the present moment. A man without religion is nothing but an animal and being every man is irreligious, therefore, the whole human society is certainly animalistic.

I have not heard anything from you in about a fortnight, and I am anxious to hear how you are doing there. It may be there is some mail delay due to my leaving Seattle for Santa Fe, and then coming here to Los Angeles, California. You can write to me at the above address, my residential apartment. And you will be pleased to know that I am now accepted by the USA immigration department as permanent resident, with option to apply for citizenship.

The Samkirtan party which is developing may hope one day to travel over the world, and in that case, your service will be required. The present Samkitan party now working in Los Angeles is scheduled to join the London party in due course, and if it is successful there, they may propose to make a world tour, which certainly will be a glorious work. And at that time our tour in India will be very successful.

We are trying to present Krishna Consciousness all over the world in a very scientific and philosophical way, and as such your help in this connection will be of great value. I do not know whether it will be possible for you to join us whole-heartedly, but if you can so do, it will be of great value and we can immediately start a Bengali edition of BACK TO GODHEAD magazine under your good editorship.

So far your acceptance by my other disciples is concerned, in the beginning there may be some inconveniences but if your decision is to work with us without any reservation, then there will be no difficulty.

Kṛṣṇa consciousness can be achieved simply by your intense desire that "This life I shall try to achieve favor of Kṛṣṇa." Kṛṣṇa will help you. Teṣāṁ satata-yuktānāṁ bhajatāṁ prīti-pūrvakam, buddhi-yogaṁ dadāmi tam (BG 10.10). If you are actually seriously engaged in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, then Kṛṣṇa gives us intelligence how to approach Him. So pure devotional service is rarely achieved.
SP 108px conv7.png
vanipedia.org
Pure devotional service is the beginning of all auspiciousness. All-auspiciousness means go back to home, back to Godhead. So if we stick to pure devotional service, follow the rules and regulations, chant sixteen rounds, be engaged always in the service of the Lord, then ultimate gain is that tyaktvā dehaṁ punar naiti mām eti kaunteya.

Maha-Visnu is lying in the Causal Ocean, Karanarnava, and He is breathing, and from His breathing innumerable universes are coming out. And in each and every universe, Maha-Visnu, in His further expansion as Garbhodakasayi-Visnu, He enters. That Garbhodakasayi-Visnu, from His abdomen there is a lotus stem, and in that lotus flower Lord Brahma is born. In this way, creation is made.

There is no possibility to start temple there without sufficient local men who join us. If you think you shall keep the money you collect there for future use for temple, that's alright, but my Guru Maharaja used to say, "Trust no future, however pleasant."

I am very glad to hear from you that Berlin centre is progressing nicely under your expert supervision. You are one of my older disciples and I think you were the first devotee in European continent, so now you have got good experience how to do the things well, and I see that you are sincerely applying your knowledge to expand Krishna Consciousness movement with good result.

I am glad that you have chosen the right course of action to sue Nair and finish the business once and for all. We are prepared to take back the money and cancel the whole thing. Why doesn't he return? Now stick to the principles of the original agreement to file suit. Don't change your decision.

Only For the Satisfaction of My Spiritual Master - 0126
03:24 minutes from a lecture on BG 04.18 in Delhi
SP 170px 067.png
vanipedia.org
This movement was started only for the satisfaction of my spiritual master. He wanted. Caitanya Mahāprabhu wanted that this movement should be spread all over the world. So he ordered many of my godbrothers, and desired... Even not ordered, he wanted. He sent some of my godbrothers to the foreign countries to spread, but some way or other, he was not very successful. He was called back. So I thought, "Let me try in this old age." So the only desire was to satisfy the desire of the spiritual master.

When you have got this center, it is not that you should be engaged from morning till you go to bed for sense gratification. That is not life. That is karmī's life. You have no time for sat-saṅga, for association. You cannot make any progress by this sort of karmī's life. We have to work for organization, but not that whole day and night engaged and no sat-saṅga. That is a misguided policy, and it will spoil the whole structure.
SP 108px 013.png

In Los Angeles, they regularly assemble during ārati and class. If this regulative principle is lost, then you are karmīs. They must come back by six o'clock, suspending all other duties, and assemble by seven o'clock. Joint mess program is not good.

"What he'll do by becoming Birla, rich man like Birla?" That was Kṛṣṇa's plan. "Come here. Do this work." You see.

My Guru Mahārāja ordered. Kṛṣṇa wanted. I was resisting Him. That's all. I was actually very expert businessman in chemical line. I did it very creditably in Bose's laboratory as manager and my own business. And everyone knows... Even in manufacturing also.
SP 108px 009.png
vanipedia.org
I was simply planning in different way. Therefore Kṛṣṇa's favor. I never deviated from this plan. Since I heard it from my Guru Mahārāja, I've simply planning how to do it successfully. But I thought at that time, that "I'll be able to do it if I get some money. Let me do some business for the time." That I was thinking.

"So our business is to understand Kṛṣṇa tattvataḥ, in truth, not superficially. Then our life is successful. Janma karma me divyaṁ yo jānāti tattvataḥ (BG 4.9). Not superficially. Try to understand Kṛṣṇa in truth."

You can do it as you are doing it, but it is advisable to consult directly with Srila Prabhupada on such a matter specially if you are making some change in any of the publishing, that should be consulted with Srila Prabhupada first. Kindly do this.

First of all let them come to the standard of human being. Then there is question of peace and happiness. They are kept as cats and dogs, and how there can be peace? You cannot make any peace in the dog society. That is not possible.
Lecture CC Madhya 20.101-104 - Bombay
SP 170px 058.png
vanipedia.org
It is not a fashion, that one has to accept anyone as guru. No. A person requires a guru when he is inquisitive, when he is very much eager to understand the spiritual, śreya uttamam. Uttamam. Ut means transcendental, and tama means darkness. This world is called darkness, ignorance. So one who wants to transcend this position of ignorance and wants to know the transcendental subject, means spiritual subject.

Big, Big Plans to Educate People How to Work Hard - 0159
06:19 minutes from a lecture on SB 05.05.15 in Vṛndāvana
SP 108px 019.png
vanipedia.org
You don't require any education for this karma. They are making big, big plans to educate people how to work hard. This is waste of time. Educational institution should be for teaching people how to become Krsna conscious, not to become this or that.
Conversation A - Vṛndāvana
SP 108px 029.png

That is the position. The only means is that in spite of all opposition you have to chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. That will cleanse. Otherwise there is no other way. Argument and logic, they have no brain to understand. It requires this transcendental method, ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanam (CC Antya 20.12), by chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa.
Conversation B - Vrndavana
SP 108px conv4.png

We spend for God. We are servant of God. We want to see God gorgeously situated, and for us we have no comforts, we don't care for any comfort. We simply spend minimum, just to keep the body and soul together, that's all. This is our principle. We don't spend a farthing for our sense gratification.

Prabhupāda: Now we have to open temple in every village.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Temples in every village?
Prabhupāda: Yes. Then spend money.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: And then spend the money.
Prabhupāda: Don't keep money. Spend it. The karmīs, they spend for sense gratification. You spend for Kṛṣṇa.
Conversation C - Vṛndāvana
SP 108px conv3.png

Prabhupāda: Aurobindo never preached in Hindi.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: (laughs) He was speaking in English?
Prabhupāda: Um-hmm.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: You should have said that. "Why don't you follow your master? He spoke in English."
Brahmānanda: I didn't know it then.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: That would have been a good point. You could say, "We are following our spiritual master. He speaks in English. Why don't you do the same?"
Prabhupāda: He wrote all books in English.

Bhakti-caru: Ācchā.
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: (whispering) Tell him it will be good for him.

Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: If they pray to Lord Jagannātha for your cure...
Bhavānanda: Immediately or as soon as possible, then he'll...
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: Oh. First they should do the praying.
Prabhupāda: Let me be in health. Then I'll do that.

Prabhupāda: Jagannātha Purī's sanctity they are killing. Thousands of years. Hmm? Gaura-Govinda?
Gaura-Govinda: Yes?
Prabhupāda: The sanctity is being...
Gaura-Govinda: Sanctity is lost now.
Prabhupāda: Kali-yuga. What is happening Jagannātha Svāmī?
Conversation G - Vṛndāvana

Prabhupāda: How many of you are going to Māyāpur with me?
Tamāla Kṛṣṇa: We are going, ten—ten on the plane and another four or five on the train. Say fifteen altogether.
Śatadhanya: Even more. There was about four or five on the plane that Prabhupāda didn't take.

That is my only request, that at the last stage don't torture me and put to death. So I am not eating anything, and if we chant, by batches chant, I'll hear.
