After Caitanya Mahāprabhu sent Sanātana Gosvāmī, the importance of that tract of land known as Mathurā-Vṛndāvana became very important. The importance of that city is due to this Sanātana Gosvāmī, because Sanātana Gosvāmī was authorized to go there and establish temple. Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"Before Lord Caitanya, the places of pastimes of Lord Kṛṣṇa was forgotten. People knew only that 'In these quarters Kṛṣṇa was born and His pastimes was played here'. But no particular places were excavated. But Caitanya Mahāprabhu... So after Sanātana Gosvāmī and Rūpa Gosvāmī, hundreds and thousands of temples were constructed, and there are at least five thousand temples now, after Sanātana Gosvāmī."

Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
Prabhupāda: There are two slogans. One Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa. And another short, is Hari bol, Hari bol. You can practice also that. Hari bol.

Devotee: Hari bol.
Prabhupāda: Yes. Hari... that is shortcut of Hare Kṛṣṇa. Yes. Hari bol. Hari bol means 'the sound of Hari, or the Lord', Hari bol. So whenever there was some greeting, Caitanya Mahāprabhu used to answer, raising His hands, 'Hari bol'.

Lecture SB 12.02.01 - San Francisco
Nectar Drops from Srila Prabhupada
"Śukadeva Gosvāmī says, tataś ca anudinam. Anudinam means "as the days will pass." Then what will be the symptoms? Now, naṅkṣyaty. Naṅkṣyaty means gradually diminish, will diminish. What will diminish? Now, dharmaḥ, religiosity; satyam, truthfulness; śaucam, cleanliness; kṣamā, forgiveness; dayā, mercifulness; āyuḥ, duration of life; bala, strength; and smṛtiḥ, memory. These eight items, just try to know. First thing is religiosity. As the age of Kali will make progress, people will become more and more irreligious. And they will become more and more liars. They'll forget to speak what is true. Śaucam, cleanliness, that will also diminish."

"The material scientists, they have no information of ātmā. Therefore they think that in the moon planet there is no life, in the sun planet there is no life. Simply... This is kūpa-maṇḍūka-nyāya. Dr. Frog PhD., he's thinking in his own way. Dr. Frog thinks that this three feet dimension of the well is all in all, there cannot be anything. These rascal philosopher and rascal scientist, they think in that way, Dr. Frog. There cannot be Atlantic Ocean. That three feet dimension, well water is sufficient. Therefore we have to receive knowledge from authorities. We cannot speculate. Speculation will not help us in approaching the real destination."
